Interceptive Treatment
Early treatment, also known as Phase I treatment, often begins between the ages of 7 and 10.
Goals of early treatment may include correcting abnormal jaw development or creating space for permanent teeth. Dr. Chris will carefully monitor your child’s growth and development and provide early treatment only when necessary.

First visit
Did you know that the American Association of Orthodontics recommends a screening at age 7 to evaluate jaw growth and the developing teeth? Many patients do not need treatment at this age but when treatment is needed, irreversible future complications can be avoided by catching teeth and jaw problems early.

Metal Braces
Metal braces are most recognizable symbol of orthodontics. This treatment modality is an effective tool to give you a great smile and jaw alignment.
Data is collected at our consultation and records visit. Using the pictures, digital x-rays and digital models we have taken, Dr. Chris will formulate a plan to decide where each brace goes on each tooth. A wire is inserted into the braces and each tooth is slowly moved into the right place that is belongs.
Even though we are gently moving the teeth, the teeth have memory! They usually want to drift back to where they were. Regular use of a retainer is recommended so that we can keep the teeth in their new and improved positions.
